Lead Outdoor Learning Instructor
Whitlingham Adventure offers a wide range of adventurous activities on water and land to young people, adults, families, and local communities. Activities include canoeing, climbing, kayaking, orienteering, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and more.
Based within Whitlingham Country Park, a gateway to the Broads National Park, the centre provides a range of outdoor learning activities, including schools and youth groups, individual courses, adventure clubs, craft hire, and a range of opportunities to be active outdoors.
We are looking for experienced and qualified Outdoor Learning Instructors to join our team who will deliver a range of activities to diverse groups. Candidates should have at least 2 full seasons (or 3 part-time) of working in an outdoor centre or similar environment.
You Must Hold:
* In date First Aid qualification (minimum 1 day training, as required by your instructor/coach qualification)
* In date face-to-face safeguarding training (minimum 3hrs, e.g. UK Coaching, Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership or equivalent)
* You must be 18 years old or older
* At least one senior qualified National Governing Body (NGB) Instructor/Coach such as:
o Royal Yachting Association (RYA)
+ Senior Dinghy Instructor
+ Senior Windsurf Instructor
o British Canoeing (BC)
+ Coach Award in relevant discipline (e.g. Sheltered Water Coach (Canoe/Kayak) or SUP)
+ UKCC Level 2 Coach
Lead Outdoor Learning Instructors will deliver a range of activity sessions and serve as Duty Team Leader for the day, supervising a team of Activity Instructors.
Flexible working with opportunities for progress and development within the centre and the industry, gaining a range of experiences during the season. Lead Outdoor Learning Instructors are employed on a variable hour’s basis, with activities delivered throughout the summer season, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
