Aintree Theatres are going through exciting transformational changes to deliver the future of healthcare services across Liverpool. We are seeking a highly motivated, professional Theatre practitioner to lead a team within a very busy Emergency and Orthopaedic trauma specialty theatre unit.
We are looking for dynamic individuals, with excellent leadership skills and an in-depth knowledge of Orthopaedic trauma, General, MFU, ENT, Vascular, Urology and plastics surgeries. You will have the motivation, vision, and leadership qualities necessary to lead a successful theatre team. As a key member of the A Theatres senior team, you will be required to deliver high standards of perioperative care and have the ability to support and develop your team to meet the needs of an ever-changing and fast-evolving theatre department.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive assessment of peri-operative patient care needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs/technology and varying levels of complexity.
* Collect, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records to enable effective care delivery.
* Involve the multidisciplinary team and where possible patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
* Work collaboratively with other professionals and departments to ensure patient needs are met, especially with regard to efficient enhancement of the patient journey within the specialty.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers/relatives.
* Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
* Treat all information regarding clients and patients as confidential.
Management/Leadership Responsibilities
* Act as an effective role model.
* Lead a team, organising and coordinating the daily care delivery.
* Deputise for the Specialty Leader in their absence.
* Accept delegated line management responsibilities of other team members including performance development reviews and provide counselling & support where necessary.
* Support the Specialty Leader to maximise best use of clinical resources, implementing best practice in patient flow, and the patient's journey.
* Participate in the interviewing of staff for theatre teams.
* Promote the development of services within the specialty area and assist the Specialty Leader to implement change.
* Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources: reporting fluctuations and developments in a timely manner.
* Monitor health, safety and security of self and others.
* Promote best practice in the theatre area.
