Job Description
Job Title: Female* Personal Assistant (PA)
Hours: 3 x 1.25 hour shifts /week + overtime. Can be negotiated. Mainly weekday mornings.
Salary: £13.68 per hour
Location: Seacroft, Leeds. Near Fearnville Playing fields.
Main purpose: To provide physical support to enable a young, intelligent person to do day to day activities.
Main Tasks
1. To provide personal care support for hair washing and dressing etc.
2. To assist in the preparation of meals, hot drinks and the associated kitchen duties.
3. To assist in general household chores such as tidying, cleaning and washing.
4. To prompt and assist with medication.
5. To make hot water bottles.
6. To scribe for admin including emails and university work.
7. To assist in using a computer and other electronic devices.
8. To assist in the preparation for daily activities, e.g., packing a bag.
9. To assist in accessing facilities and activities in the community e.g., changing for swimming and being a physical presence in the water.
10. To maintain clear and accurate records as determined by the employer including timesheets and financial records and agree and sign the timesheets.
11. To attend relevant training sessions.
12. To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the employer.
13. To maintain and uphold the strictest confidentiality even after employment has ceased.
Person Specification
ESSENTIAL:
1. Must be female *Female applicants required as some personal care is required
2. To be a good listener and follow instructions
3. To have a positive attitude and an open mind to disability
4. To be able to cook and clean
5. To be able to work on own initiative
6. To be willing to be flexible and available
7. To have a patient and caring attitude
8. To be willing to learn
9. To be reliable and punctual
10. To be organised and have good timekeeping
11. To be willing to work in the same room as an assistance dog.
12. To have a good level of verbal and written English
13. You must complete a DBS check for this role
DESIRABLE:
1. To be able to swim
2. To be able to drive
3. To have experience as a Support Worker or Personal Assistant
4. To have experience of working with disabled people
5. To be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
