Talent STEM is working with an innovative chemical company in the West Midlands to recruit a Research and Development Chemist to join their R&D team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or PhD in Chemistry to gain hands-on experience in organic synthesis within an industrial setting.
The role
This is a lab-based position focused on bench-scale organic synthesis to support the development of new chemical processes. Working closely with senior chemists and project teams, you will:
1. Conduct hands-on organic synthesis at the bench scale to develop and refine chemical processes.
2. Develop robust synthetic routes suitable for scale-up and large-scale production.
3. Produce small-scale samples for customer evaluation.
4. Maintain accurate records of experimental work and contribute to technical documentation.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise and troubleshoot processes.
What you'll need:
1. A BSc or PhD in Chemistry, with a strong focus on organic synthesis.
2. Passion for hands-on laboratory work and developing new chemical processes.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
4. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
5. Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative R&D environment.
