The main duties of the Finance Manager:
Month end routine to provide a fully reconciled trial balance to the Groups central finance function to enable accurate management accounts to be prepared.
Full control of the balance sheet to include the monthly postings associated with fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments postings.
Generation of sales invoices and control of the receivables ledger including the active participation in the credit control process to maximize cash collection against agreed targets.
Overseeing the credit account approval process within the business including the creation of customer accounts. The Finance Manager will involve liaison with the Contracts Manager for timely credit decisions in line with Group policy.
Preparation of the monthly VAT return
Preparation of the monthly CIS return
Processing of all purchase invoices and maintaining a purchase order Log
Maintain nominal ledger accounts, posting journals as necessary and reconciling control accounts.
Update cash at bank each morning and reconciliation of the bank account.
Manage the spend of the Technicians, managing hotels within specified budget
Reconciliation and approval of Company Credit Card alongside the General Manager.
Ensuring Business have the correct controls in place and that they are adhered to.
Any other duties deemed reasonable.
Education and Experience
AAT/ CIMA qualified desirable (or equivalent accounting qualification).
4 years experience within an accounting and bookkeeping function.
SAGE experience desirable.
Microsoft Excel proficient.
Person Specification
Numerate and analytical.
A strong communicator with good verbal and written skills.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines and achieve targets.
Ability to work in a team.
Previous experience in a sales/construction industry is desirable.
