A permanent SPMT Operator role, based in Mansfield/various UK locations.
Your new role
The SPMT Operator will be a key member of the Osprey team and responsible for the execution of onsite operations using SPMT’s and rigging equipment. Working as part of the SPMT team you will be responsible for the full life cycle within a project such as working to QHSE standards, following detailed RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) and engineering drawings, mobilization/demobilisation of equipment and operating the SPMTs.
The SPMT Operator is accountable for:
* Operational Delivery – following the Osprey Way of Working, ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and effective manner.
* Site Relationships – developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Osprey colleagues and supporting client conversations when required.
* SPMT Expertise – both on-site operations (to include performing basic maintenance, inspections etc.) and pre-operation planning, providing advice, guidance, and when required supporting Project Managers or Project Engineers in the engineering and planning stages of projects.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have:
* Circa 2 years’ experience either on SPMT’s or similar.
* Experience working in a Heavy Lift Operations environment, ideally within Renewables / Oil & Gas, Civils and Ports.
* Knowledge of rigging, lashing and able to perform basic rigging duties.
* Basic understanding of maintenance and repair work.
* Experience of adjusting trailers to ensure equal load is spread throughout all axles and can adjust to suit the terrain.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships, enjoys working as part of the team/be a strong team player, and able to liaise with site management and project managers.
* Follow and perform the correct use of manual handling.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written.
* Flexibility with hours of work and location throughout the UK.
