Senior Architectural Technologist Job in Bury St Edmunds working with a Building Top 150 consultancy, where your expertise will shape projects across the UK and Europe. With a focus on stages 3–6 of the RIBA Plan of Work, this role offers a blend of high-impact projects, flexibility, and a clear path to becoming an MCIAT if you’re not already there.
Having just opened this new office they are looking for this candidate to join a growing team. Company-wide they are currently circa 120 staff primarily across the south coast and London.
They are a multidisciplinary consultancy offering design, building surveying, quantity surveying, project management, town planning and urban design services to a multitude of different sectors including education, residential, commercial, healthcare and the public sector.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Prepare tender and construction stage drawings, specifications, and coordinated project documentation.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage statutory approvals, and oversee consultant and supply chain submissions.
3. Lead health and safety design reviews, including CDM compliance and hazard identification.
4. Manage multiple projects across RIBA Stages 3–6, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
5. Develop innovative design proposals supported by building science and technology expertise.
6. Mentor junior staff while staying updated on building regulations and industry standards.
Required Skills & Experience
1. 5–10 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist in the UK, ideally Chartered (MCIAT) or working towards it.
2. Confident with BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, and NBS Chorus.
3. Skilled in writing NBS specifications and technical detailing.
4. Solid understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
5. Strong grasp of Building Regulations with practical, hands-on experience.
