Our tier 1 Water contractor client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team based out of their Bristol office on a permanent basis with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be expected to take responsibility for the commercial management of a range of projects across water/wastewater.
Responsibilities
1. Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages.
2. Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost.
3. Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
4. Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
5. Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation.
6. Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
7. Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
8. The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
9. Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.
10. Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
11. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
12. Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
13. In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
14. Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
1. Degree or equivalent.
2. Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution.
3. Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors.
4. NEC3/NEC4 Experience.
5. Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team desirable.
