Due to a re-organisation of the Estates Department there is a vacancy for an Electrician.
£30,722 plus 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays and voluntary pension scheme.
The role is Monday- Friday with opportunities for overtime and weekend working, plus participation of an emergency on call rota.
Start and finishing times 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The SWFTCS Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance repair and installation service of building, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the SWFT Trust.
Main duties of the job
To work autonomously as a specialist craftsperson in area of expertise, (Electrician) planning and responding to Planned Preventive Maintenance and emergency calls.
The post requires frequent concentration to diagnose complex faults and the adaptability to respond to frequent interruptions and deal with unplanned maintenance issues.

Job responsibilities
To install, maintain, service and repair the full range of estates electrical services equipment, across all areas of their trade.
To take responsibility for complex diagnostic fault finding, problem solving and repair and maintenance of equipment. To undertake servicing and installation of equipment and systems within the Trust and in other properties maintained by the SWFT Clinical Services Estates Department, including Low Voltage, Fire Alarm detection systems, Nurse Call systems, Power generation, Lifts, Lighting, etc.
To carry out new work or undertake new production appropriate to his/her original trade (Electrician) using relevant instruments and machinery without supervision. This may include the manufacture, assembly, erection and installation of new work using own initiative, experience and judgement.
To analyse and diagnose plant problems using computerised Building Management System (BMS).
To effect temporary repairs/make safe works in emergency situations. Report and facilitate all repairs as necessary.
To undertake condition surveys of equipment and acceptance testing of new equipment.
To act as nominated competent person (CP) in own specialist trained areas for statutory standards in line with appropriate HTM standard.
To act as nominated approved person (AP) in specialist trained areas for statutory standards in line with appropriate HTM standard, as required.
To undertake the role of an emergency engineer in an emergency on-call system covering all properties maintained by the Trust and as specified by their Estates supervisor.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Completion of a recognised City and Guilds craft certificate (or similar trade certificate). Level 3 vocational qualification.
* Initial & Periodic Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391).
* Electro Technical Craft (2365) or Electro Technical technology (2357).
* Authorised/competent person for relevant specialist HTM.
Experience
* Significant commercial & domestic trade experience.
* Demonstrate evidence of working processes in a highly regulated environment.
* Fault finding and installation.
* Practical & theoretical experience in domestic, plus commercial industries.
Skills
* Good communication skills - able to communicate complex technical and safety information to other staff, contractors, patients.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Team player.
* Must have excellent IT skills.
* Good organisational skills - able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
* To effectively plan/schedule workloads from CAFM system - including Planned Maintenance & breakdowns.
* Analytical skills for complex problem solving, fault diagnosis, risk assessment of complex multifaceted equipment.
