Technical Network Service Owner
Salary: London circa £70,000 / National circa £60,000
Are you an experienced individual with a strong technical network background but who has a passion for managing 3rd party suppliers? If so, we are recruiting for someone who has the engineering network skills to identify issues, challenge the suppliers and have a real input into the direction of some very exciting times within the Network team at Aviva.
A bit about the job:
As a Technical Network Service Owner, you will be accountable for maximising the value of network technologies including end-to-end enterprise connectivity and automation (across various hosting and cloud environments). Identifying technical options and their advantages and disadvantages and presenting them to a less technical audience. Providing technical leadership in large and small project engagements.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and objectives and ensure that technology operations meet these requirements, working with business units to identify and implement processes and automation to drive operational efficiencies and resolve any outstanding operational issues caused by technology.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Deep technical understanding and design experience in several of the following areas are essential: SDWAN (Overlay and Underlay), SASE / SSE, LAN Switching, Wireless Networking, Routing (BGP, OSPF etc).
* Broad vision of industry standards, recent technologies, and key market trends.
* Experience in Network Automation including tools and common scripting languages (e.g., Python) with experience of both technical incident investigation and project governance/change control of planned activities.
* Great understanding of packet level traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark.
* Experience of 3rd party supplier management including excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and able to naturally collaborate across teams to deliver successful outcomes.
What you’ll get for this role:
* Starting salary – London based £70,000, National based £60,000 (depending on Location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
