The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Governance & Assurance Lead to join our Supply Chain Directorate and provide strategic oversight and intelligence across the entire Supply Chain lifecycle, helping to set standards that guide our teams in procurement, contract management, and relationship building.
You’ll work closely with the Senior Commercial Lead, making sure we have effective governance and assurance frameworks in place to maintain smooth, compliant operations that support the project’s goals.
Your efforts will not only safeguard quality but also promote improvement and efficiency across the Directorate and the wider HPC project.
Pay, benefits and culture
Alongside a competitive starting salary (negotiable depending on experience), and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead a team to implement and maintain our Governance Framework, ensuring it is comprehensive, effective, fit for purpose and provides clear guidelines for Supply Chain staff.
You’ll oversee the Assurance service, independently reviewing compliance and highlighting best practices, reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team and escalating any commercial risks when necessary.
Representing the Supply Chain Directorate at governance forums, you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.
Additionally, you’ll manage the Directorate Requirements Register, conduct periodic reviews, and ensure improvement actions are implemented to maintain alignment with the broader HPC management system.
Who you are
With a background in governance and assurance, ideally within a major infrastructure or nuclear setting, you bring a solid understanding of NEC and/or FIDIC contract management and may be accredited with MRICS, MICES, or MCIPS.
You excel at translating complex requirements into clear, actionable processes, are adept at influencing senior stakeholders, and bring strong communication skills to engage effectively across all levels.
A proactive problem solver, you’re comfortable taking ownership and working autonomously to ensure that governance and assurance standards drive the project forward effectively.
Familiarity with nuclear site licence conditions and UK regulatory frameworks will be highly valuable in this role.
Closing date for applications: 1st December 2024
