The Role
We’re on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team! As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational safety, generation, and environmental performance of Coryton Power Station. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining, repairing, and improving the mechanical equipment to ensure that our power station and all our systems are operating at peak efficiency.

Role Summary
1. Maintain, repair, and improve site Mechanical equipment and systems to provide high reliability and availability for operational requirements.
2. Utilise the site Maintenance Management System to prioritise, schedule, plan, and record maintenance activities.
3. Produce work-packs and RAMS documents to meet planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
4. Ensure compliance with Company policy, procedures, and standards to maintain compliance with Environmental & HSE legislation.
5. Support the Loss of load investigations to determine root cause and deliver actions as required.
6. Work proactively with the Line Manager to ensure technical and safety competencies are maintained in order to fulfil the role and attend training as required.
7. Responsible for planning, co-ordination, execution & supervision of contract support organisations to deliver allocated tasks during outage.
8. Maintain Site System drawings and documents to reflect current plant configuration.
9. Contribute towards delivering site budget requirements and identifying opportunities to improve value.
10. Develop and deliver minor Mechanical projects to improve equipment reliability and availability.
11. Provide out of hours call-in response and support for out of hours planned maintenance activities to meet operational business requirements.
12. Support the Mechanical Lead Technician in co-ordinating the initial stages of a forced outage to ensure the necessary resources and equipment are mobilised.
Why you?
As our new Mechanical Technician, it is essential that you have suitable knowledge and experience of CCGT power plant operations and the maintenance associated with gas/steam turbines, permits for work systems and the ability to read technical drawings. You will have suitable experience with IT applications and computer aided Maintenance Management applications. We have Safety@Heart here at InterGen, so having a good understanding of all HSE aspects will be fundamental in this role and a practical working knowledge of Power Plant Performance would be an advantage.
Education/Experience
1. Educated to HNC in a Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred (alternative qualifications may be considered if evidenced by suitable practical experience)
2. NEBOSH or IOSH qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
3. A minimum of five years Power Plant O&M experience would be desirable but experience within heavy industry and/or technical production environments would be considered.
