Scaffolding Instructor - Erith
Imperial Professionals are currently recruiting exclusively for a national Training Provider / College who are looking to appoint a Scaffolding Instructor on a full-time basis.

Salary: £43,150 per annum (increase once fully qualified)
Hours: Monday - Friday (office hours)
Type: Permanent
Duties:
1. Deliver training to a high standard to achieve course objectives, both practical and theory, keeping within the timings of the courses.
2. Ensure that course material, equipment, training aids, and documentation are available to meet the objectives of all courses.
3. Update and develop course material, including training aids, lesson plans, and timetables.
4. Carry out industry-recognized training and assessments on trainees in accordance with scheme rules.
5. Promote and maintain a safe learning environment ensuring high standards of health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality and diversity are maintained at all times.
6. Complete and maintain all trainees' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation as required by awarding bodies and NCC quality procedures.
7. Consistently demonstrate our behaviors while being a role model for students and challenge inappropriate behavior in a professional manner.
8. Complete all mandatory training as prescribed for your role and undertake any additional requirements for plant equipment categories needed to support training courses.
9. Perform your work duties in accordance with the company behaviors and challenge inappropriate behavior of learners not adhering to the college rules.
10. This role will be subject to ongoing observations during the Teaching and Learning process and will require adopting areas for improvement identified during the Observation ensuring continuous improvement in teaching ability.
11. Plan and prioritize workload as required.
12. Identify improvements/innovations with delivery to be supported with involvement of relevant stakeholders.
13. Ensure correct equipment usage and safe operation.
14. Implement efficiency savings.
15. The role requires a combination of following instructions and own initiative adhering to policies and procedures at all times and providing supervision of learners.
16. Communicate with apprentices and college staff on a wide range of issues including progress reviews and safeguarding.
17. Communicate with senior instructors on a wide range of issues including progress reviews, related support for apprentices, disciplinary, and safeguarding issues.
18. Supervise learners during assessments, inductions, and training.
Requirements:
Essential:
1. Recognized apprenticeship and/or qualifications (e.g., CPCS card or relevant (Blue) in multiple categories relevant for Plant).
2. Strong written and oral communication skills (prepared to attend training and achieve Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy).
3. Sound proven knowledge of current industry practices and experience/ability in construction skills relevant to the post in one of the following areas: Construction, Access, Health and Safety, or Plant.
4. Must be prepared to work towards and achieve a relevant teaching qualification to at least level 4 (achieved within 12 months).
5. Prepared to work towards and achieve relevant qualifications that support the vocational area of the curriculum (achieved within a given time frame).
6. Hold a relevant health and safety qualification (training will be given).
7. Attend the “Disarm Within” course within 12 months.
8. An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and equality and diversity (training will be given).
9. First Aid at Work Certificate (within 6 months).
10. Health and safety qualifications/training relevant to the specific role (training will be provided within 6 months).
Desirable:
1. Possession of Assessor units would be advantageous (training will be provided).
2. Hold relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., CTLLS Level 4 - Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or equivalent qualification) (training will be provided).
3. Possess a recognized Health and Safety qualification (e.g., SMSTS, PTTLS, NEBOSH Construction etc.) (training will be provided).
4. Possess an accredited Trainer card/Tester Card for relevant specialism (training will be provided).
5. Relevant construction Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
6. Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in young people and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
7. Well organized and efficient with the ability to manage own workload.
8. Be prepared to undertake work placements within the industry to develop industry experience and CPD.
9. Possess CPCS tester (Plant) and/or NVQ/Assessor status (training will be provided).
