We are looking for a temporary part-time receptionist to be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Experience is preferred.
This will be a zero hours contract. Flexibility is essential and the successful applicant should be available to work between the hours of 08:00 am and 18:30 pm on a rota basis, as and when required.

Main duties of the job
Duties can include, but are not limited to, answering phone calls, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information, and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

We are a lovely practice in Cleckheaton with 5 partners, 2 x ACPs, 1 x Paramedic, 1 x Practice Nurse, 2 x HCAs and a friendly team of reception and admin staff.
Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
1. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
2. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
3. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
4. Prescription requests
5. Signpost patients to the correct service
6. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
7. Read code data on SystmOne
8. Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
9. Direct requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the Medical Secretary
10. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
11. Carry out system searches as requested
12. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area always
13. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
14. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Adhere to practice policies regarding security and confidentiality, records management roles and responsibilities and computer skills.

Where it is a requirement of the job for the post-holder to use computers or other information technology, he/she will be required to ensure that security procedures are followed as appropriate and that confidential information for example, passwords, are not communicated to unauthorized individuals.
