My client specializes in the defence industry, producing and maintaining various types of weapons, materials, and aircraft emergency evacuation systems.
They are also involved in creating composite materials such as carbon fibre tubes and aero-structures.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
1. Responsible for tooling design and documentation.
2. Must have experience with 3D CAD and 2D drafting.
3. Provides hands-on support for manufacturing assembly of company products.
4. Technical writing.
5. Strong understanding and experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and process hazard analysis (PHA).
6. Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process.
7. Maintain equipment and tooling through coordination with the maintenance team.
8. Coordinate and perform all necessary validation and process engineering evaluations as needed for manufacturing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. BS or MS in Engineering discipline or Physics.
2. Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
3. 3D solid modelling experience.
4. Experience designing, installing, and qualifying production equipment including hand tools, fixtures, and semi-automated equipment.
5. Familiar with typical metal working tolerances produced by milling, grinding, turning, and laser or water jet cutting.
