We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Logistics team at Greggs in Manchester as a Logistics Manager.
Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager, the primary focus of the role will be to manage the logistics process, involving warehouse picking, stores, despatch, transport and customer service.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do
20. Manage and lead a cross-functional team and liaise with both the production and retail management teams to establish procedures and measures to achieve continuous improvement
21. Manage an operating budget of around £10m, our Manchester site services in excess of 300 shops on a daily basis and we aim to grow further. Key areas will include goods-in, warehouse, despatch & transport operations and fleet management
22. Ensure customer service is at the heart of the logistics operation with regular reviews and recommendations for action to improve customer satisfaction
23. Create a culture where safety, quality and compliance are embedded in daily life
24. Achieve budget within the function and ensure key cost control areas are kept in line
25. Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures
26. Carry out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting monthly 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans
27. Lead a team in line with the values, with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility.
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
28. You have operational management experience gained within a time-sensitive, ideally temperature controlled and customer focussed distribution operation
29. You hold a National Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
30. You have gained a Logistics qualification at Diploma or Degree level
31. You’re an effective communicator, decision-maker and influencer, across all levels
32. You’re proficient in Microsoft 365
33. You have demonstrable organisational and planning skills
34. You’re a proven self-motivator and people motivator, with experience of achieving business objectives through leadership
35. You have experience of SAP / MRP in a warehouse environment (desirable)
