Main duties of the job

You will work alongside motivated multi-disciplinary teams in a supportive atmosphere. Our low patient-to-nurse ratio means you can focus on providing the highest standards of individualized care.
We are looking for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to support the Inpatient Unit teamensuring optimum care standards for patients and their families. You willbe a Registered Nurse with NMC Registration, supporting and overseeing nurses,APs, NAs and HCAs as well as student nurses to deliver direct and indirectcare. You will be compassionate with a good understanding of the needs ofpatients living with life limiting illness and their loved ones. Job responsibilities
To provide a high-quality specialist palliative care service topatients with a life limiting illness and to provide care and support for thefamilies, carers and those close to them.
To support the IPU Manager in team leadership ensuring optimum carestandards for patients and families.
To support and lead the ward team under IPU Manager guidance ensuringand practising under the NMC Code of Conduct and Hospice Values.
To support and oversee staff nurses, APs. NAs and HCAs as well asstudent nurses to deliver direct and indirect care.

Essential
1. A minimum of 2 years experience of life limiting disease management or palliative and end of life care
2. Experience of team and ward management
3. Experience of personalised care and support planning that includes advance care planning, ReSPECT and treatment escalation planning
4. Experience of multidisciplinary team working
Desirable
5. Experience of undertaking service evaluation
Qualifications
Essential
6. Degree/Diploma in Adult Nursing
7. NMC Registration
8. Communication skills course

9. Recognised History Taking and Physical Assessment Training or willingness to undertake.
10. Advanced communication skills and ReSPECT training
11. Mentorship qualification or Practice Assessor and Practice supervisor training
