As the Anaesthetic and Recovery Lead, you will help us build a healthier nation. You will be registered with the appropriate governing body and have the relevant qualifications and post-registration experience in anaesthetics & recovery, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. With strong clinical leadership, you will guide your team with a shared vision, promoting innovation and sustainability. As a clinical leader, you will need good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge and understanding of running a smooth and effective department are also essential.
As our Clinical Lead in Anaesthetic and Recovery, you will:
* Promote experienced and professional leadership to the anaesthetic and recovery teams and be responsible for effective first-line management of A & R practitioners.
* Assess staffing needs and skill mix requirements in line with clinical activity, handling training, education, and development of your team within the appropriate codes of practice.
* Act as a role model demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, leading and managing individual patient care to contribute to the overall advancement of the Theatre.
* Ensure the smooth running of the theatre lists, organizing booking forms and assisting sessions in theatres.
* Work collaboratively and flexibly across the theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of each department, which include Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedic, and Gynaecology.
* Promote effective clinical risk management and governance within the department, including safety and risk management, quality improvement, and ensuring policies and procedures enhance patient care and service delivery.
* Have extensive knowledge required for dealing with audits and equipment.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.
