We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a student in a mainstream secondary school in Plymouth.
In this role, you will work closely with the student, encouraging engagement with lessons, supporting their unique learning needs, and ensuring consistent attendance in each class.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping the student overcome learning and behavioural challenges, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
This position is expected to run through the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension.
- Provide direct one-to-one support for a student, assisting with engagement in classroom activities.
- Address the student's specific learning and behavioural needs with a personalised approach.
- Ensure smooth transitions between classes and full attendance in scheduled lessons.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to tailor learning materials.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help the student develop effective learning strategies.
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and behaviour management.
- An understanding of the unique challenges involved in working one-to-one with students requiring additional support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the possibility of a permanent role in the future.
