Our client is a growing independent Garden Centre group who is looking to strengthen their procurement team by appointing an established category buyer to develop and build on their current indoor and outdoor plant range.
With experience in a horticulture / retail environment you will be accustomed to dealing with high volumes and working in a fast-paced environment. You will be ambitious and enjoy a strategic element to your role.
Role Description
This is a full-time office-based role for a Horticultural Department Buyer. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all categories of plants, shrubs & trees for an estate of garden centres and retail stores, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring procurement processes align with company standards.
Qualifications
* Experience in sourcing and purchasing horticultural products
* Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
* Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes
* Strong market research and trend analysis skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and remotely
* Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred
