Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Coventry
Pay Rate: 26.59 per hour, with a 33% uplift on night shifts
12 Month Contract
Shift Patterns:
* 6 weeks Mon-Thurs 7:00-17:15
* 6 weeks Mon-Thurs 20:45-7:00 (Night shift with 33% pay uplift)
* 6 weeks Tue-Fri 7:00-17:15
* 6 weeks Mon-Thurs 20:45-7:00 (Night shift with 33% pay uplift)
Purpose:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard. This includes ensuring compliance with all electrical and mechanical regulations, and meeting the requirements of the manufacturing areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform corrective electrical (or minor mechanical) repairs on plant and equipment, restoring them to optimal operational condition.
* Prioritize safety during maintenance, ensuring the well-being of operators, maintenance personnel, and third parties.
* Implement planned corrective maintenance during scheduled shutdowns and carry out preventive maintenance using diagnostic and predictive techniques.
* Provide installation and refurbishment services for plant equipment and buildings to continuously improve company assets.
* Monitor and record the condition of plant and machinery, ensuring legislative compliance.
* Support production operations by training staff in first-line maintenance procedures.
* Promote continuous improvement by reducing downtime through refining preventive maintenance schedules and performance monitoring.
* Train and advise other team members, and attend training courses as needed.
* Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental policies, and Quality procedures.
* Work independently or within a team, and liaise with subcontractors for maintenance purposes.
* Carry out special duties as assigned.
Skills / Technical Requirements:
* Essential:
o Knowledge and experience with CMMS systems
o Installation and maintenance of electrical systems
o Maintenance of plant equipment including CNC machines (Mazak, Mori Seiki) and Fanuc/Siemens controls
o Engineering/Maintenance Apprenticeship
o GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
o City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
o Ability to work under pressure and in hazardous areas (basements, service ducts, roofs, etc.)
o Availability to cover day and night shift patterns
* Desirable:
o BS7671, 18th edition qualification
o Knowledge of IEE wiring regulations, electrical diagrams, ladder diagrams
o Experience with industrial boilers (BG01) and induction furnaces
o PC skills and working knowledge of statutory regulations (electrical, pressure systems, Health & Safety)
