Structural Engineer / TECHNICAL ADVISOR - Commercial / Residential and Industrial Building Projects
Location: London, UK / Hybrid
Starting salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits
Welcoming applications from skilled and experienced structural engineers to play a pivotal role in delivering guidance and support to the broader team of engineers, architects, surveyors, and ESG team, clients, and developers. As you will see below, this is a varied role.
Working as a Technical Advisor, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of structural site installations and design principles, to include:
* Technical due diligence activities, such as desktop reviews and peer reviews of relevant information to identify risks.
* Review and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of installation and remediation works carried out onsite, ensuring compliance with structural, building safety, and building regulation requirements.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable legislation and design guidance related to the construction industry.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technical advice and solutions into our clients' projects.
* Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar qualification, such as a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
* Experience (minimum of 3 years) as a structural engineer with a strong onsite presence within the construction industry.
* Technical skills including desktop reviews and report writing.
* Experience reviewing and assessing installation and remediation works onsite, ensuring adherence to structural and building safety requirements.
* Knowledge of applicable legislation and design guidance related to the construction industry in the UK.
* Excellent communication and team skills including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders onsite.
* Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft suite.
* Strong project management abilities; including the capacity to prioritize tasks, work on multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.
* Valid CSCS card.
* Own transport would be ideal but not essential as there will be site visits around London, Bristol, Bath, etc.
