Hours: 9:30am - 3:20pm Monday- Thursday
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Learning Pastoral and Support Assistant to join our established and friendly team of staff. The role is to support a Reception child with additional needs and with limited verbal communication. Support and experience with communication, cognition, and learning difficulties is essential. The role will include:
1. undertaking / leading in tactile/sensory activities;
2. being the key worker for this 1:1 with shared responsibilities;
3. adapting activities and changing to meet his needs;
4. initiating play-based learning and adapting EYFS/KS1 curriculum;
5. working alongside other LPSAs within the classroom and in support of the 1:1 pupil;
6. developing communication through PECS in order to lead to verbal communication;
7. delivering personalised speech and language programmes.

You will need to:
1. be educated to GCSE A-C or above in English and Maths, preferably with NVQ2 or equivalent in an area relevant to this post;
2. be a flexible, organised, and committed team player;
3. have the ability to show initiative and work independently;
4. have previous experience in an educational setting or willingness to learn;
5. be committed to supporting children in their learning;
6. be experienced with working on a 1:1 basis to support children with SEND needs.
