An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an emergency department at in STOCK-ON-TRENT and SHREWSBURY.We are looking for a dynamic, friendly, motivated, clinically sound band 5 nurse with a passion for emergency care who is driven to deliver high quality patient focused care in a busy ED.Emergency Department is purpose-built to aid patient flow, transfer, and treatment. It comprises of Emergency Department and Acute Medical unit, featuring several bedded triage bays, clinical assessment rooms, an ambulatory care unit, short stay rooms, a separate emergency department entrance and a ground level helipad. Knowledge, Training Experience and Skills Required:
Registered nurse with current NMC license to practice.
Completion of training for additional clinical skills required in the ward/department i.e. IV drug administration/cannulation & venepuncture/male catheterisation/training to monitor and change syringes for epidural & PCA syringe drivers. ECG training.
Evidence of attendance at mandatory training appropriate to the role.
Competence in the use of computers and electronic communication systems or expectation to develop existing skills further as the needs of the service dictate.
Evidence of an ability to critically appraise and utilise research to maintain and improve patient care.
Sound knowledge of health promotion issues to ensure junior staff, patients and carers are provided with education, support and advice as required.
Evidence of experience and knowledge of the importance of resource management including protocols for staff utilisation, equipment and products for clinical care
Clinical Responsibility : Be accountable for performing regular assessments on patient needs, to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery and be adaptable to changing health care requirements.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives and carers to always ensure their involvement in the decisions about treatment, planning and the delivery of their care.
You will take responsibility for working collaboratively with your team, other professionals and agencies to always ensure the patients needs are met, especially in relation to their on-going health care needs, their transfer and their discharge planning.
Be accountable for ensuring your daily practice fulfils your professional requirements as outlined by the NMC code of conduct and guiding documents.
Be accountable for maintaining your active status on the NMC register
You will actively participate in patient and public involvement activities
