An opportunity exists in the Council’s Street Scene Services for a Street Cleansing Team Leader working from our Depot at Monckton Road, Wakefield.
What will be expected from me?
The post holder will be part of a Street Scene Team to deliver a high quality citizen focused Street Scene service within a neighbourhood in Wakefield districts, which delivers safer and stronger communities by improving environmental quality and increasing the sense of community pride in neighbourhoods.
What I might be doing?
1. You will be working within recognised safe systems and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation.
2. You will lead a small team whose duties include all aspects of street cleansing and environmental improvement works by use of a range of hand tools and small plant.
3. You will be working as part of a Street Cleansing Team for a geographical area of the district.
Essential requirements:
1. Driving License category C1 + E
2. Driver CPC qualification
3. Hold or obtain NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Street Cleansing
4. An appropriate supervisory qualification.
5. Health and Safety – IOSH Certificate within 12 months of appointment.
6. A sound knowledge of operating plant, tools and equipment in relevant environmental / amenity work.
