What's involved with this role: Interim PT Generalist Solicitor Job Ref: NW Leicestershire 5263996 Pay Rate: up to £65.00 per hour PAYE max Hours per week: 18 Monday - Friday, TBC Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months City: COALVILLE Your role will involve planning (s106 agreements, deeds of variation, UUs, and BNG) and litigation (housing disrepairs, possessions, and court experience). Key Duties: Provide legal advice and representation on a broad range of local government matters, including contracts, planning, housing, property, and governance in courts, hearings, tribunals, and Council Committees. Advise external clients on various legal issues, contributing to income generation. Assist senior legal team members with a variety of legal matters as needed. Participate in marketing activities, including networking, delivering training, and contributing to website content. Support legal compliance in Council decision-making and ensure committees and groups receive appropriate legal advice. Represent the Head of Legal at Council meetings, committees, and working groups as required. Liaise with external solicitors and counsel on legal matters and assist with drafting instructions. Key requirements: Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate. Strong understanding of local government law and governance. Experience in providing legal advice and representation in local government law or a broad range of legal areas, including contracts, planning, housing, property, and governance. Experience in drafting legal documents, including agreements, contracts, and legal correspondence. Proven experience in representing clients at hearings, tribunals, and court. Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills. Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective legal advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
