Job Overview
The External Affairs Lead will be responsible for building awareness of and advocacy for UK Research and Innovation with the communities it funds and works with.
This role involves developing and delivering engagement approaches to progress corporate policy priorities, focusing on identifying key collaborators across government and the wider civil service network.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of engagement activities to promote UKRI's corporate policy priorities.
* Build relationships with strategically important external collaborators and partners.
* Represent UKRI's interests with external stakeholders in national and international forums.
* Maintain effective relationships within UKRI site-specific teams where needed.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have a high level of understanding of how Westminster and Whitehall work. Recent experience of working in or closely with Government and/or policy makers is also essential.
You will need to demonstrate credibility with relevant external communities based on public affairs or stakeholder management experience from government, industry, education, or the third sector.
