Bridgewater Surgeries is a large, busy GP practice and has an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team for 30 hours per week, 4-5 days of 6 hour shifts. This key position within the practice will act as a first point of contact, both face to face and on the telephone.Duties will include; Receive, assist and direct patients either in person or via phone in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently handled and provide general assistance to the practice team. Project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. About the Candidate General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable. Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. Full training will be given to applicants with relevant transferable skills.
