Post: Screening and Early Detection Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Lothian’s Public Health Department as a Public Health Project Manager within the Screening team. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is committed to improving population health.
The successful post holder will be allocated two specific screening programmes to work on as part of an established team. They will be responsible for working with the screening services to ensure they meet established standards and objectives through monitoring their performance. Additionally, they will identify areas for improvement and lead the planning, management, and implementation of prevention and inequalities projects. Key to this will be engaging with primary and secondary care and other key partners across Lothian to influence and drive the screening work. This work aligns with the national screening programmes that are delivered in Lothian and Scotland.
The post holder may have an opportunity for line management responsibilities within the Screening Team.
This Screening team sits within the Healthcare Public Health Division of NHS Lothian’s Directorate of Public Health and Health Policy.
The directorate aims to improve and protect the health of people in Lothian as part of a whole system approach to public health in Scotland. We are seeking applicants with an understanding of health inequalities and experience of health improvement/public health, project planning, management and implementation, in addition to well-developed partnership working and negotiation skills. Applicants should be educated to degree level in public health or a related subject.
