My client is a utility service provider specialising in delivering integrated power and communications solutions. It is a private equity-backed business that is rapidly growing. Their reputation within the utility industry for delivery has enabled them to secure leading contractor status with several clients throughout the fast communications and Electricity Supply Infrastructure sectors.
The Role:
To assist in managing the health, safety, quality and environmental matters within the business division by providing professional advice and solutions, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
To develop and implement health and safety best practices, ensuring the company complies with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice, and guidance regarding employment and service provision.
Responsibilities:
1. Advise and assist in the planning and promoting health, safety, quality and environmental programs within the Gas Division.
2. Interpret and advise on implementing company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
3. Engage and communicate with operational staff, both direct and subcontracted.
4. Ensure compliance with the company's integrated management system and contracts.
5. Conduct regular site, compound and CDM audits, including working out-of-hours
6. Assist in compiling, reviewing and revising project SHEQ documentation and welfare set-up.
7. Upload project data onto the company's electronic management system.
8. Maintain current and appropriate site notice boards.
9. Assist in the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires and tender documentation
10. Investigate accidents, incidents and utility damages, establish root causes, and introduce preventative measures.
11. Willingness to work weekend nights and travel as required
12. Work across other divisions within the company if needed.
Requirements:
13. NEBOSH Level 6 or NCRQ Level 6 (NVQ Level 5 as a minimum standard)
14. EUSR or CSCS in a related subject
15. NRSWA (SWQR) certification
16. Working knowledge of HSG47
17. Experience in Power/Fibre/Water/Gas industries
18. Proficiency in accident/incident investigation and root cause analysis
19. Proficiency in data analysis and report compilation
20. Competency in Microsoft Office software
21. Willingness to work out of hours, including weekends and nights
22. Ability to travel and occasionally stay overnight
