Job Type: Permanent Build a brilliant future with Hiscox Job Title: Change and Configuration Manager Location: York - hybrid Job Summary Within Hiscox the Change and Configuration Manager will be responsible for re-engineering the scope and design of these core processes, whilst maintaining the oversight and management of all changes to the organization's IT systems and infrastructure. This role ensures that any modifications are properly documented, reviewed, approved, and implemented in a controlled manner. Additionally, the manager meticulously tracks the current configuration of all system components to maintain consistency and stability across the environment, essentially acting as a guardian of system integrity by coordinating change management processes with configuration management practices. As Hiscox IT has begun a new target operating model, this area requires new energy, efficiency and design, to complement an agile way of working. Key Responsibilities Change Management: Review current processes, and create a best practice roadmap with the capability of delivering any process and governance improvements. Receive and evaluate change requests from various stakeholders. Analise the impact of proposed changes on systems and operations, and highlight potential risks. Facilitate the change approval process and change governance through change advisory boards, and change approvers. Monitor change implementation and track post-implementation reviews. Provide insights on potential risks associated with changes. Configuration Management: Review current processes, and create a best practice roadmap with the capability of delivering any process and governance improvements. Identify and document all configuration items (CIs) within the IT environment. Establish and maintain configuration baselines for systems and applications. Track changes to configuration items and ensure proper version control. Perform configuration audits to verify compliance with established standards. Utilize configuration management tools to automate configuration tasks. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive change and configuration documentation. Providing Audit data to ensure change management delivers a robust and compliant Generate reports on change activity and configuration status via Power BI, or other dashboard reporting methods. Continuous Improvement: Putting in place a program for continual service improvement, ensuring end users and focus group’s feedback is heard and translated into measurable improvements. Identifying and measuring quality of service is equally as important as service availability. Proactive Trend Analysis: Recognizing trends in service consumption, end user behaviour, and process atonement. Ability to handle high pressure situations, and prioritise effectively. Experience in managing the resolution of major incidents. Essential Skills: Change management professional with current ITIL and best practice frameworks. Experience defining new processes for change and configuration management. Educating teams on new processes. Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SCCM16, or Device 42. Beneficial Skills: Power BI Reporting: Experience in creating or providing clear requirements for dashboard creation. Agile Delivery: Previous experience of working within an agile delivery framework, or the ability to adapt to one at pace. ITSM Toolsets: experience and knowledge of service management toolsets.
