Main Purpose of Role
To ensure manufacturing quality is maintained by providing effective first line support on all functioning diagnostic/test equipment. In addition to this:
1. Diagnose and repair assemblies/PWB at component level.
2. Assess and ensure that all new product test requirements and specifications meet the necessary safety guidelines.
3. Ensure customer supplied test equipment meets the necessary safety guidelines.
4. Test Product where the Test Specification is deemed to be above an operator level.
Outcomes of Role
1. Satisfied internal and external customers.
2. Timely completion of agreed actions.
3. Recommend test strategies & provide related costings to meet recommendations.
4. Ensure conformance of the product in relation to specified requirements.
5. Effective repair and provide feedback for product including Customer Returns.
6. Achievement of departmental KPI targets as well as NPI targets.
Responsibilities
1. New Model Introduction and jig/fixture design and build including customer liaison.
2. Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding test equipment maintenance, reliability, spare parts, diagnostic data, and documentation.
3. Ensure correct test strategy and solutions as per customer's specific requirements.
4. Deploy test solutions to production.
5. Liaise with Engineers regarding test equipment support, training, documentation and the introduction of new test equipment and projects.
6. Debug, diagnose and repair assemblies/PWBs to component level.
7. Monitor production quality through the test equipment and ensure that manufacturing quality data is fed back as soon as possible.
8. Load and change fixtures, hardware and software as required by production to test different products.
9. Debug and stabilise Teradyne, Flying Probe and Functional Test Equipment with an aim of reducing no fault found and increasing test stability.
10. Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulation, environmental policies and general duty of care.
Essential Skills
1. Good co-ordination and time management skills to achieve company deadlines and timescales.
2. Ability to supervise, train and support other employees.
3. Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
4. Good verbal/written communication skills & be IT literate.
5. Adaptable with a flexible approach to the role.
Essential Knowledge
1. Experience within a Test/Repair/Design Environment.
2. Experienced in Fault Finding down to component level.
3. Experienced in working with instrumentation and their incorporation into test systems.
4. Need experience and knowledge of InCircuit Test systems (AOI, Flying Probe & Teradyne).
5. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO, QS, TS).
6. Ability and knowledge to meet the IPC-610 standard.
Salary
£38,000 plus pension, cashplan healthcare and Death in Service 6x salary.
Working Hours:
8am until 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1pm Friday.
