Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.
Things are happening and changing at pace here in Children’s Services in Stockton on Tees. There’s lots going on and we have come a long way. We’re seeking ambitious, hardworking and innovative people to join our team.
We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced professional to the role of Social Worker – Family Placement Team. The Fostering Team has expanded and we have developed three specialist teams: Recruitment and Assessment (foster carers and supported lodgings), Post Approval Mainstream Foster Carers Team and Post Approval Connected Foster Carers.
We are recruiting for a full-time post in the Post Approval Connected Carers Team, which focuses on the supervision, support and training of connected foster carers. This is an exciting time to join the team as we move towards the development of a Kinship Service, which will provide consistency, training and support for both foster carers and kinship carers, enabling children and young people to experience permanence and stability within their network. We are a dedicated team, passionate about improving the lives of our children and young people and ensuring Kinship carers get the support and recognition they deserve.
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of current fostering and special guardianship legislation and must be able to demonstrate excellent relationship building, organisational and report writing skills. Applicants should ideally have experience in completing fostering/special guardianship assessments and/or supervising, supporting and training foster carers and be able to meet tight timescales.
It is anticipated that an appointment will be made at Grade J-L to maintain a skills balance within the team.
In addition to excellent career progression opportunities, with a clear and supported development path, we also offer agile working, with flexible and family friendly policies, that have a work/life balance at their core, plus lots, lots more…as you can see below.
