Anderson Green Ltd is a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy and we have a permanent vacancy for an Apprentice Mechanical Design Engineer based within our Nottingham Office.

The Role:
The successful candidate will work alongside our other mechanical designers on a wide range of projects across various sectors, delivering services from feasibility through to a detailed and fully coordinated design for installation purposes. RIBA Stages 0 to 5.
Your role will be to help deliver mechanical building services design, training through workplace experience and day release college placement. You will assist with the design of mechanical building services such as HVAC, domestic hot and cold water and public health systems. You will also utilise dynamic simulation design software to undertake building physics studies; air flow and heat gain for example.
Tuition will be provided for design software packages including H2X, Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD and REVIT.
As an Apprentice Design Engineer, you will work alongside our mechanical and electrical building services Design Engineers and Revit Technicians as part of a multi-discipline team producing detailed, complex and sustainable building services designs in both a 2D and 3D environment.
Duties will include:
* Designing, sizing and selecting mechanical systems using various calculation software packages
* Implementing sustainable technologies into the mechanical design
* Production of three-dimensional models, drawings, specifications and reports
* Preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
* Coordinating design with colleagues from other disciplines
* Referring to industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations
* Attend client, design team and project meetings
* Undertake feasibility studies and surveys
Preferred qualifications, experience and skills:
* A Levels in maths, science or design subject – not essential
* GCSE grade 4 or above (grade A-C) in Maths, English and a science or design subject
* Confident with Microsoft Office, predominately Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Willingness and ability to use design software
* Looking for a career in building services and utility network design
* Appetite to learn and develop
* Interested and confident to ask questions
* Good time management, organised with a flexible attitude
* Be a team player, but able to operate at an individual level
* Responsible, punctual, reliable and hard-working
Training and development:
* Training will be provided ‘in house’ supported by our experienced design engineers
* Day release college placement
* Support and mentoring will be provided to obtain professional membership (CIBSE)
