You’ll be responsible for protecting tenancy deposits and resolve disputes about deposit disposition at the end of tenancies. A role you will love You’ll adhere to strict deadlines with the production of adjudication decisions. You’ll work collaboratively across our teams within the same department, supporting continuous improvement and project related activity related to your role. Some of your key responsibilities will include: · You’ll handle adjudications for disputes referred to DPS/LPS Scotland adjudicators · You’ll resolve disputes between landlords and tenants and draft adjudication decisions for The Deposit Protection Service/LPS Scotland · You’ll liaise with Dispute Resolution Case Handlers and other key individuals within DPS/LPS Scotland · You’ll assist the Head of Dispute Resolution, Lead Adjudicator, and Senior Adjudicators with various tasks as requested Salary and location The salary for this position can reach up to £42,000, depending on your experience. You’ll be responsible for analysing large volumes of complex information to identify key issues and in turn, make clear and concise decisions. High-level decision making and investigation skills are essential for adjudication. Excellent attention to detail is crucial as well as the ability to work independently. The nature of this role demands excellent communication skills, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to achieve deadlines. Other key skills required for the role include: · Recognised law qualification (LLB, LPC, CILEX), or extensive experience in the lettings industry and qualified to degree level · A working knowledge of Housing Law and dispute resolution is desirable · Attention to detail · Ability to work autonomously We welcome applications from law graduates interested in a career in alternative dispute resolution.
