I am working with a business based in Lincoln that are seeking a Management Accountant to join a thriving, fast-paced finance team and play a key role in driving the future success of their division. This position will see you take ownership of the management accounts, helping to rebuild systems, improve processes, and manage a team of two direct reports. The role is pivotal in setting high technical standards and driving continuous improvement in data quality, systems, and processes. The role also offers a clear path for career growth, with opportunities to progress to senior leadership roles.
The business can offer a degree of flexibility with 1/2 days a week home working.
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
The role:
Oversee and manage the management accounts team, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy and financial integrity.
Collaborate closely with the Commercial Team and other key stakeholders across the business to understand performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Improve financial systems and data quality.
Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, identifying trends and providing clear recommendations to senior management.
Own the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Influence and build relationships with senior leaders.
Lead the implementation and improvement of financial systems.
Maintain a hands-on approach, rolling up your sleeves to identify and resolve issues, especially during month-end and year-end processes.
Support the training and development of junior staff—encouraging learning and offering mentorship.
The ideal candidate:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or strong QBE with significant experience in management accounting.
Proven experience in a technical management accounting role, with the ability to manage complex financial data and deliver insightful analysis.
Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
Leadership and team management experience—ideally in a finance team with varying levels of experience (some new team members, some long-established).
A high standard of technical accounting skills and a keen eye for detail.
