Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer (12 month fixed term contract)
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid - One day per week in the office)

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will play a critical role in shaping data-driven narratives and enabling our stakeholders to see the actionable stories behind the numbers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Data Storytelling: Craft and deliver compelling data narratives that translate complex data findings into accessible, impactful stories for stakeholders.
* Insight Generation: Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business decision-making.
* Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that engage users and highlight key insights.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, gathering requirements to ensure that data solutions are aligned with business goals.
* Technical Expertise: Utilise SQL and Power BI, including DAX and M languages, to build and optimise data models that support reporting and advanced analytics.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Present data findings in a clear, visually compelling manner, offering guidance and strategic recommendations based on data insights.
What you'll be doing:
* Crafting compelling data narratives that turn complex information into stories, enabling stakeholders to see beyond the numbers and understand actionable insights.
* Designing, building, and deploying interactive reports and dashboards that don’t just present data but engage users, highlight trends, and reveal the stories behind the numbers.
* Developing and maintaining data models and BI solutions that enable informed decision-making across AB Agri’s business functions.
* Designing, building, and deploying business intelligence reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring they meet the needs of various stakeholders.
* Translating complex business requirements into technical specifications and developing data models that support those needs.
* Performing data analyses to generate insights that help monitor business performance and facilitate strategic decisions.
* Collaborating with business units to gather data from a variety of sources, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customer feedback, and turning it into actionable insights.
* Supporting stakeholders at all levels by presenting data findings, offering guidance, and advising on potential opportunities and improvements based on data insights.
What you'll bring:
* Proven ability to turn complex data into clear, insightful narratives that resonate with stakeholders, helping them understand the “why” behind the data and empowering them to make strategic decisions.
* Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
* Significant experience with BI tools, particularly Power BI, including creating data models, building reports, and developing dashboards.
* Great communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels and explain complex data concepts in an accessible way.
* Solid understanding of SQL, DAX and M languages for data transformation and analysis.
* Proficiency in data modelling techniques, including both tabular and multidimensional models, and an understanding of data lakes and Azure cloud platforms.
* A keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in data analysis, reporting, and dashboards.
* A creative, self-driven approach with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines while collaborating in a cross-functional, global team environment.
Qualifications:
* Experience: 5+ years in a data analysis role with a strong focus on Power BI and SQL.
* Data Storytelling Skills: Proven ability to turn complex data into clear, insightful narratives that resonate with stakeholders and empower them to make strategic decisions.
* Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Power BI (including DAX and M languages), SQL, and data modelling techniques.
* Advanced Analytics: Familiarity with advanced analytics, including techniques like predictive modelling, regression analysis, and clustering, is a plus.
* Strong Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Attention to Detail: Keen eye for accuracy and consistency in analysis, reporting, and dashboarding.
Preferred Skills:
* Cloud Platform Experience: Familiarity with Azure cloud, data lakes, or similar data storage solutions.
* Additional Tools: Experience with other data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) and analytics software is an advantage.
* Data Operations: Understanding of data warehousing and data pipeline development for seamless data access/movement .
Location
Hybrid, a mix of office and homeworking. This role will be based at our Peterborough offices on the Lynchwood Business Park.
