Job Overview
As a Work Experience & Placement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving our college’s engagement with employers to secure high-quality work experience and industry placement
for our 16–18-year-old students, including those on T-level study programmes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in business development, sales, or employer engagement, who is eager to make an impact on students' futures and help bridge the gap between education and the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and secure suitable work experience and placement opportunities by liaising with employers and matching students accordingly
• Manage a caseload of 16–18-year-old students, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and delivery of work experience and T-level industry placements
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with employers, curriculum teams, students, and college support services to ensure smooth placement operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employers and curriculum teams for placement-related queries and support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employer contacts, placement opportunities, and student progress using the College’s CRM system.
Essential skills and experience
• Proven experience in sourcing and coordinating work experience or industry placement opportunities
• Proven experience in sourcing and securing new employers for work placements, apprenticeships, or work-related projects.
• Ability to identify and assess potential business opportunities, establish new employer partnerships, and expand the college’s network of industry partners
• Ability to influence and engage employers by clearly communicating the value of student placements and related programmes.
• Strong presentation and persuasion skills to effectively pitch the benefits of partnerships to new employers.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of T-level programmes, related funding, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve business development goals, including expanding employer networks and increasing the number of placement opportunities.
