We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to be part of a new Digital, Data and Technology Function.

CITB operates a hybrid working from home and head office in Peterborough policy, with approx. one day in the office per fortnight with additional travel to external sites and parties as required.
Role Purpose:
The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role in extracting and interpreting data to drive informed decision-making across the organisation. This position is responsible for employing advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modelling techniques to generate data-driven insights that support both operational and strategic goals. The role requires working on complex or specialised data projects, providing advisory and hands-on support for data-related matters and management initiatives.
Reporting to the Head of Data this role works closely with Change Managers, Programme and Project support staff provided by the Enabling Partner or external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modelling to generate insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Apply data analysis and visualisation tools to interpret and communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.
• Identify, collect, migrate, and manage data from different systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
• Clean, manipulate, and aggregate data, enabling comprehensive analysis and the linking of diverse data sets.
• Present data and conclusions in formats suited to user needs, enhancing accessibility and relevance of insights.
• Act as a data expert on complex projects, advising on data strategy, governance, and optimisation opportunities.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
• Master’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or Data Science; Mathematics or in a related field and 3-5 years of industry experience in data analysis using SQL
• A minimum of 4+ years of full-time experience in data analysis
• Led a large-scale data migration
• Experience working at enterprise-scale
• Background in data projects with a broad understanding of data; migration, mapping and modelling
• Applied knowledge of data analytics and data pipelining tools and approaches across all data lifecycle stages
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Experience in Python and/or R programming
• Experience in Microsoft Data Stack (Azure/Data Factory/PowerBI/SQL Server)
• Proficiency in data visualisation tools, such as Tableau
Desirable
• Advanced scripting experience in R or Python
• Ability to write and maintain moderately complex data pipelines
• Experience of general data architecture would be beneficial but not essential
