My client manages component repair services as well as component warranties for their clients, ensuring costs to clients are closely controlled.
As a Value Engineering Support Specialist, you will be contributing to the clients' savings associated with Value Engineering, managing warranties and guarantees and other value stream activities.
Role: Value Engineering Support Specialist (Permanent role)

Main Responsibilities:
1. Contact suppliers to seek clarification of workscope/pricing/warranty and challenge when a decision is unjustified. Record outcomes.
2. Enforce contractual terms and recover benefits if justified.
3. Manage contract TAT (Turnaround time) fixes.
4. Be the go-to department for engineering/technical issues and provide subject matter expertise to other company departments.
5. Assist Sales & Business Development teams with the design of strategic programmes for customer cost reduction and revenue generation.
6. Apply continuous improvement to develop company processes, procedures, systems and market competitiveness (to improve the overall efficiency and ability to meet the needs of the customer).
7. Generate penalty claims associated with Shop Processing Time/Turnaround Time guarantees.
8. Liaise with suppliers to negotiate credits and challenge when decisions are unjustified.
9. Maintain the company Processing Time database.
10. Support the department manager with tasks and a broad range of technical related projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
11. Help to enforce contract guarantees.
12. Build and maintain strong working relationships with other company departments and suppliers.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Minimum two years' experience in a related discipline.
2. Clear communicator with good written and verbal skills.
3. Focused and methodical with strong time management & prioritisation skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as both an individual and as part of a team.
5. Strong MS Office skills, including Excel & the internet.
6. Good attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy.
7. Resourceful, uses initiative, possesses good interpersonal skills.
8. Quick to learn and keen to undertake training & development.
9. Passion for aerospace.
Additional Information:
1. Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK prior to application. No sponsorships are available, either now or in the future.
2. Initially 100% office based. After probation, there may be an opportunity to WFH for 2 days per week.
3. Mon-Fri. 37 hours per week.
4. Free onsite parking. Own vehicle beneficial due to location.
