SENIOR DEMAND PLANNER (6 MONTHS FTC)

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Senior Demand Planning Manager, Designer Parfums is looking for a Senior Demand Planner to provide support to the Demand planning function across all brands with the target of making sure we provide stock to our customers on time and in full.
The successful candidate will have a background in Demand planning and possess an excellent level of technical skills to be able to fully support the development of the function. A cross-functional role by maintaining an up-to-date forecast and initiating purchase/production plans for all new and active products, reporting on sales trends and inventory status to maximize sales and minimize inventory liabilities.
The role will require working very closely with Marketing, Sales teams, and account managers as well as the production planning team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support Demand Planning across all brands
• Collate Market Forecasts and update planning tools
• Maintaining rolling demand plan for all active and new SKUs
• Maintain data inputs to the demand planning forecast management tool
• Monitor Forecast accuracy by brand and customer monthly
• Monitor & report on key changes in sales forecasts, budgets & business strategies
• Propose & implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
• Identify and help manage end-of-life and excess stock
• Conduct formal weekly forecasting meetings with Account Managers to review and amend short- and medium-term forecasts
• Conduct monthly S&OP meetings with Account Managers to review sales, supply, and demand planning and performance
Support the Demand Planning Manager with risk assessments & mitigation activities
• Communicate to the business any risk of out of stock and ensure all relevant parties have timely and accurate context, availability information and action plans
• Maintain agreed stock levels across SKUs adjusting supply plan to meet target stock levels
• Maintain optimum stock levels across the warehouse s with the timely transfer of stock to support forecast
• Work with production planners to ensure they meet requirements & planned productions have been approved
• Building relationships across internal and international departments
• Liaise with Internal Departments
• Meet with retailers and distributors to discuss their forecasts and planning
• Highlight any logout-of-stock risks as well as high inventory to stakeholders
• Assist in employee recruitment & evaluation activities
Deliver on Operational KPIs – Forecast vs Sales (FE / Forecast error), Forecast Accuracy (FA), SOH vs Target stock, Item Location Forecast, Phase-out Products.
Drive continuous improvement of demand planning tools and capabilities – Fit-for-purpose processes and tools to enable planning goals. Support the development of fit-for-purpose IT infrastructure (SAP) to enable the Demand planning team to increase reliability and efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in personal care or beauty industry is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in demand planning, business planning, or supply chain planning roles with touch point in commercial and financial analysis is essential.
• Knowledge of, and working experience with forecasting, demand planning and S&OP.
• Experience of working with and implementing a forecasting system.
• Must have excellent data analyst skills and must be very detail oriented.
• Understanding and commercial awareness of the total supply chain including supply planning and customer supply chain teams.
• Attention to detail, and an ability to spot anomalies in large data sets.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills with hands-on experience with forecasting and planning tools a plus
• Excellent Excel skills (mastery of Pivot Tables, data sorting and V-Lookups necessary). Other MS Office tools experience required.
• Experience in SAP Business is desirable.
