Assistant Gardening Manager Salary £42,000 to £45,000 Office (Chiswick, London) and Site Based Full-Time & Permanent You will be a key part of a successful team in this family owned and managed Garden Construction & Maintenance Company. With a portfolio that stretches from small, incredibly valuable city centre terraces to the largest of country gardens and commercial landscapes, the common element in all of their work is the pride that they take in their landscaping, planting and maintenance. The Job: The Gardening Teams are based from the depot near Chiswick and cover much of central and west London. Many of the gardens that you will look after have been built by the company and you will ensure that they look their best as they continue to develop and mature. This work is supplemented with referrals and new enquiries, ensuring that the department both busy and growing. You will assist the Gardening Manager in scheduling work and allocating duties to the Garden Maintenance Teams. You will also be active in the field accompanying teams on their rounds, helping them with their duties and ensuring that their work is completed efficiently to the highest standard. Supervise, schedule and audit the work of your Garden Maintenance Teams Be a point of contact for clients dealing with enquiries, questions and any complaints Ensure that the work of your teams is completed efficiently and to the highest standard Ensure that your teams have all of the correct equipment and PPE Ensure that your teams comply with all H&S regulations Prepare and present proposals and estimates for new work Prepare invoices, and reports for extra and additional work Manage your teams, assist in the assessing and recruiting staff Help in developing the business to create new opportunities for the company The Person: You will probably have over 15 years’ experience in Garden Maintenance, ideally coming from a role “on the tools” and with a knowledge of practical horticulture. You will have reasonable IT skills and an understanding of scheduling work and allocating duties. You will have managed small teams either as a Team Leader or Supervisor. As a “face of the company” you will be professional in your approach and capable in your communications with both Clients and Staff. Current Driving Licence (ESSENTIAL) 15 Years Gardening experience RHS (or equlivant) qualification to Level 2 (preferred but not essential) Do you have PA1 & PA6 (preferred but not essential) Trailer experience (preferred but not essential)
