Background to the Role
We are seeking a finance professional to oversee the company’s financial affairs and provide strategic financial guidance to support sustainable growth. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure financial integrity and align financial strategy with the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain financial records ensuring the accuracy and reliability of underlying financial information
2. Prepare monthly management accounts along with an annual budget and periodic forecasts
3. Monitor actual performance vs forecast information to identify variances and provide explanations and actions to key decision makers across the company and group function
4. Responsible for the weekly cash flow and managing the company cash position
5. Develop and maintain a framework of financial controls including credit control and controls over company assets
6. Prepare and file quarterly VAT return to HMRC
7. Produce and transact monthly payroll along with P11D reporting to HMRC
8. Responsibility of monitoring absence, time keeping and attendance for payroll purposes
9. Communicate effectively at all levels and become the go to person for financial information
10. Drive best practice with procedure and process and facilitate continual improvement across the business
11. Work with Group Finance to facilitate the annual statutory accounts production
12. Work with senior management and support decision making with financial information to aid in short term decisions as well as long term strategic planning
Skills and Qualifications
1. Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) with ACCA or CIMA qualification
2. Robust management accounts experience with solid technical exposure
3. Have great book keeping skills.
4. Proficient in financial reporting systems and Excel.
5. A can do approach. Must possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify alternative solutions to problems
