What's involved with this role: Interim Planning Enforcement Officer (Development Control) Reference no: Nuneaton 5264667 Pay Rate: £45.00 per hour PAYE 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 4-5 months City: Nuneaton Must be able and willing to travel throughout the borough Your role is to provide a planning enforcement service as part of the Development Control Service, in accordance with Service Development Plans, performance targets, legislation and the Council’s Service Standards and policies. Key duties: Investigate complaints and alleged planning breaches, conducting site inspections, interviews, and collecting evidence. Maintain accurate records of site visits and evidence. Advise alleged offenders and complainants on planning enforcement procedures and complaint progress. Monitor the discharge of conditions and development implementation. Provide advice on enforcement matters to the public, customers, and legal services via various communication methods. Conduct interviews and record statements under caution in line with relevant legislation. Draft and serve enforcement notices and provide evidence at hearings, inquiries, and court proceedings. Key requirements: Qualifications equivalent to Level 2 on the national skills framework in English and Maths Knowledge of investigating complaints including collecting and recording evidence and carrying out interviews Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and other appropriate software applications. Recent and relevant experience in a Local Government or other public organisation. Experience in planning enforcement activities Excellent written and verbal communication skills sufficient to deal with complex information. Ability to read plans.
