Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Consultant in Haematology to join our well established existing service, flexible working and a good work life balance is important at Airedale and we therefore welcome applications from candidates who may wish to work less than full time.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate fully in the provision of haematology services both at Airedale and with our Partners at Bradford Teaching Hospitals.

Main duties of the job
Providing the best care for our local population is a key driver for the department, we are looking to continue to develop a sustainable service that is based around ongoing development, a few examples of our current achievements and future plans include:
1. A well-established team of chemotherapy trained nurses that has recently been increase to support with increasing demand, this team includes two non-malignant CNS
2. Consultant Pharmacist and specialist Haematology pharmacist support - with prescribing for chemotherapy and also clinics
3. A brand new aseptic preparation facilities to future proof the local pharmacy service alongside a refurbishment for our day unit facilities
4. Both CNS and Pharmacy led clinics which is set to increase in the future
5. A dedicated mobile unit to deliver treatment within the community, with a second unit due to launch in November 2021
6. We have a well-established joint weekly MDT with Bradford Royal Infirmary, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, alongside a Myeloid MDT with Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
