Job Purpose:
Our Day Shift Warehouse Supervisor is a key role working with our Day Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the day operation in our Depot where you will lead teams of Day Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.
About the Role:
You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working under the Dayshift Manager, you will support your Depot by providing strong man-management to all front-line staff on your shift.
You will supervise a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our day shifts. The Day Shift is key to our business as it is when we process the growing returns part of our business as well as parcels collected from our network of Parcel Shops.
Our Day Shift Supervisor is for someone who understands how to motivate staff and can efficiently prioritise pressing needs, where there isn’t an obvious solution. Lateral and original thinking would be a benefit as would logistics experience but we are open to experience gained in other related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a team of up to 30 direct reports providing leadership and direction for the shift
2. Develop and train reports and ensure SLA’s are hit for the day shift
3. Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
4. Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders
5. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
Essential skills and experience required:
6. Management experience of leading and managing a team
7. Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
8. Experience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage
9. PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
10. An understanding of Transport regulations
11. Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels
12. Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements
