Job Description
Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a novel materials start-up who are recruiting an R&D Scientist to join its development team based at their Northeast facility on a permanent basis. You will act as an integral part of the team, where you will apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology.
R&D Scientist responsibilities
* Apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology.
* Use high friction, ball milling processes to optimise techniques.
* Develop and execute experiments to test formulations.
* Apply milling methods such as ball milling to achieve targeted compositions.
* Advanced material characterisation including XRD, PSD and TGA.
* Interpret and relay technical/experimental data
* Support scale-up of lab processes.
R&D Scientist requirements
* PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
* Possess a strong background in both theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical activation for inorganic materials.
* Proven ability to design and conduct scientific experiments.
* Hands on experience with various milling methods for material processing.
* Proficient in XRD, PSD, TGA for materials analysis.
* Display excellent communication skills.
