Roles Available: Teaching Assistants (TA) 1:1 Support Assistants Personal Care Assistants Behavioural Support Assistants Key Responsibilities: Support Learning: Assist students with high needs to engage with the curriculum and develop independence in the classroom. Personal Care: Support with personal care tasks, including dressing, toileting, and feeding where required, ensuring the dignity and respect of the children at all times. Behavioural Support: Provide tailored strategies to support students with challenging behaviour, helping them manage their emotions and learn positive coping skills. Communication: Help students with communication difficulties, encouraging alternative communication methods where necessary (e.g., PECS, Makaton). Liaising with Staff: Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure students' needs are being met. Engage & Motivate: Use your creativity to keep students engaged and motivated throughout their school day, building confidence and encouraging social skills. What We're Looking For: Transferable Skills: Previous experience in care work, youth work or working with adults who have additional needs. The ability to connect with young people and provide a positive environment for learning is key. Empathy & Patience: You should be calm, compassionate, and able to remain resilient in challenging situations. Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work within a multidisciplinary team. Passion for SEND: A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs and a desire to make a lasting impact. Experience with Personal Care: Although experience in personal care is not essential, it would be beneficial. Full training will be provided.
