Mental Health Nurse - Adult Acute Services is required for a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help people to live their best life in a safe and supportive environment.
Our acute mental health units for adult male and female patients offer a 24-hour admission service to support local NHS services and PICU wards. The ethos of the acute wards is to provide support in a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement during the in-patient stay. Our specialist inpatient acute teams are committed to providing the highest quality of care, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression, bipolar disorder and other diagnoses, in safe and highly therapeutic environments.
The duties of the role include but are not limited to:
Providing and supporting nursing care to the ward and acting as a named nurse for a defined group of patients
Assessing, planning and delivering, with the patient and their carer /family, nursing care which takes account of patient needs, choices and wishes.
Accurately communicating with, observing and engaging with Service Users in order to assess need and evaluate progress.
Promotion of and adherence to the DBT model
Understanding and participating in relevant quality improvement processes and clinical governance
