Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll be accountable for a range of responsibilities that will shape and redefine our organisation, including:
* Analysing our strategy and broader healthcare system to prioritise OD&D interventions for maximum value.
* Leading organisation design across service streams and directorates, optimising organisational effectiveness.
* Utilising workforce planning expertise to design services and plan for future trends.
* Collaborating with leadership teams to develop and implement interventions that drive change and improvement.
* Creating a culture of engagement through transparent communication and open dialogue.
We are looking for someone with proven organisation design skills, who has used a range of OD&D tools to diagnose and implement new structures, designs, and services. As an individual, you will need to possess the following qualities, knowledge, and skills:
* Extensive experience in Organisation Design
* Significant experience in workforce planning and strategic workforce planning
* Extensive experience in Organisation Development methodologies, strategies, and programmes
* Exceptional engagement, communication, and management skills, particularly with senior leaders
* A proven track record in change management and leadership development
* Experience of leading the design and delivery of complex organisational design interventions with successful outcomes

Job Description
In this role, you are accountable for
Professional Responsibilities
* Engaging with stakeholders and clients at all levels within the organisation to build effective high-challenge working relationships to enable the delivery of the NHSBSA's strategy.
* Analyzing the NHSBSA's strategy, OD strategy, business plans, and the wider NHS system to determine priority OD interventions that will deliver the greatest return on investment and value for the taxpayer.
* Working with high levels of autonomy to interpret and lead on OD needs and requirements across multiple service streams, directorates, and programmes of change activity to optimise organisational effectiveness and support the delivery of the organisation's strategy.
* Carrying out highly complex evaluations of OD interventions, using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods to drive insight into their effectiveness and impact against agreed outcomes.
* Collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team and broader leadership community, leading organisational analysis of the strategy and developing and implementing interventions that deliver change and service improvements.
* Contributing to the development of the OD strategy, setting OD objectives and plans to enable prioritisation of work and to deliver planned change while maintaining business-as-usual priorities/KPIs.
* Utilising internal consulting models to diagnose, design, and manage the implementation and evaluation of large-scale, highly complex OD interventions, ensuring all programmes of work are contracted and outcomes are measured, monitored, and evaluated to demonstrate value and return on investment.
* Providing and contributing to programme risk management reporting, clearly demonstrating risk mitigation, management, and escalation where applicable.
* Acting as lead for assigned OD initiatives, the Executive Leadership Team, and major change programmes. Supporting the CEO, Board, and Leadership Team members on interventions for which they are the designated lead, maintaining organizational connectivity at all levels.
* Ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, including senior leaders, through timely, meaningful, and appropriate communication of highly complex and contentious information.
* Ensuring appropriate development interventions are in place to support knowledge transfer and capability development to embed change.
* Designing OD interventions that ensure consistency of processes in line with NHSBSA and L&OD strategies, meeting business needs.
* Maintaining a people-centric approach to change, leading by example to foster a culture of engagement through open and honest communication.
* Proactively researching, benchmarking, and curating evidence, building an active CPD community across the People teams and wider business.
* Advising on and contributing to the development of the Colleague Engagement Survey, ensuring its cultural relevance and supporting the business in addressing feedback.
Whole Organisation
* Providing OD advice to Executive and Senior leaders and informing organisation design at a whole-business level.
* Using organisational analysis and insight to support the design of work processes and roles, driving delivery of the target state and organisational effectiveness.
* Driving the delivery of transformation, renewal, and strategy development.
* Offering expert guidance on future and post-transformation core capabilities and coaching leaders to develop these capabilities.
* Supporting the implementation of lateral processes to ensure effective information flow and sharing of best practices across work areas.
* Developing systems and processes to leverage organisational knowledge, supporting agility and resilience.
* Modeling a collaborative and influencing working style, negotiating with leaders at all levels to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Partnering with People Team colleagues to align policies and practices with desired organizational culture and performance.
* Fostering a positive, proactive learning culture where individuals are encouraged to manage their career development responsibly.
